The objective of the PAC is to improve wages, hours, and working conditions for Alaska’s Correctional Officers. The reality is the Administration and Legislature are political in nature and they have a tremendous impact on Officers and the DOC. For example, the Legislature twice overruled the Administration’s push to private the DOC and is the approving body for our Contracts. ACOA’s PAC works diligently to see that the candidates who support Correctional Officers are elected.
