Below is the salary progression for a new Officer hired after July 1, 2022, at an institution with no Geographic Differential. For Geographic Differential information click here. The progression below will remain accurate until June 30, 2023.
New Hire CO I – 11 A ($26.40)
- The probationary period for Correctional Officers I and for all Correctional Officers II, III, and IV who are hired without a current APSC certification shall be the length of time required to receive APSC certification. (12 to 14 months)
Becomes Probationary CO II – 13 A ($29.95)
- Generally, the probationary period for Correctional Officers II who have a current APSC certification upon promotion or appointment to the Correctional Officer II classification shall be six (6) months.
Ends Probationary Status – 13 B ($30.98)
- At this point, your merit anniversary date shall be set to one year from the sixteenth (16th) day of the month following satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
First Performance Incentive (Merit Increase) – 13 C ($32.01)
- Unless the Employer denies a performance incentive (merit) increase through a performance evaluation, your step increase will become effective on the merit anniversary date. (1 year after probation ends)
Second Performance Incentive (Merit Increase) – 13 D ($33.10)
- Unless the Employer denies a performance incentive (merit) increase through a performance evaluation, your step increase will become effective on the merit anniversary date. (1 year later)
Third Performance Incentive (Merit Increase) – 13 E ($34.31)
- Unless the Employer denies a performance incentive (merit) increase through a performance evaluation, your step increase will become effective on the merit anniversary date. (1 year later)
Fourth Performance Incentive (Merit Increase) – 13 F ($35.54)
- Unless the Employer denies a performance incentive (merit) increase through a performance evaluation, your step increase will become effective on the merit anniversary date. (1 year later)
First Pay Increment Increase – 13 J ($36.87)
- Effective on the performance incentive (merit) anniversary date 2 years after achieving F step. (2 years later)
After achieving J Step, subsequent Pay Increment Increases shall be provided every two years after the Bargaining Unit Member’s pay increment anniversary date, provided the Bargaining Unit Member’s most recent evaluation meets the requirements for it to be awarded.
